YOUNG LIFE GREENVILLE
In October Young Life Greenville came to us with a vision for several videos that would be shown at their fundraising Banquet in mid November 2018. The videos were different in style and scope, but we wanted to create a theme that carried through all of the pieces.
STORIES:
The “Stories” video told the narrative of three kids who’s lives have been changed in large part because of Young Life. After we determined the general outline of the video we spent some time conceptualizing the style and feel. These conversations helped us decide what gear we would need and what type of location we were looking for. For this video, we went for a raw feel. We wanted to keep the frame simple, yet interesting, while keeping the kids and their stories as the main focus. Showing the setup and backdrop in the wide shot paired with a tighter frame gave the video some variety, creating interest in an otherwise simple space.
EVENINGS:
The most ambitious of the pieces was the “Evenings” video, which followed a week of Young Life. One of the Young Life Team members served as our voice over talent. We worked together on a script and recorded what was used as our roadmap, telling us what we needed to shoot and where. Young Life looks different every night of the week and we got the privilege of diving in headfirst! We shot over 6 days, capturing every element, from Club, which is a fun night full of games, songs and fellowship, to Campaigners, a night where kids get together with their leaders in a small group setting.
